Jesucristo Superstar o Jesucristo Superestrella (Jesus Christ Superstar en inglés) es un musical con libreto de Tim Rice y música de Andrew Lloyd Webber. El disco (antes que la obra) fue presentado por primera vez en 1970, resalta los enfrentamientos políticos y personales entre Jesús y Judas Iscariote, que no se narran en la Biblia. Está narrada desde el punto de vista de Judas. La acción tiene lugar durante la última semana de la vida de Jesús. Se inicia en Betania el Jueves anterior a la entrada en Jerusalén y finaliza con la crucifixión.En Chile (para mis compatriotas,:)), El film se mantuvo por espacio de 2 años en cartelera marcando un hito en continuidad.



Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. It highlights political and interpersonal struggles between Judas Iscariot and Jesus. The opera is based on the account in St John's Gospel of the last week of Jesus' life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem, and ending with the Crucifixion. Twentieth-century attitudes and sensibilities as well as contemporary slang pervade the lyrics, and ironic allusions to modern life are scattered throughout the depiction of political events. Stage and film productions accordingly feature many intentional anachronisms.
