The film tells the story of the German scientist, Paul Ehrich, who working in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, invented the first modern chemotherapeutic agent - Salvarsan - a drug used to treat syphilis. This is a great movie, paying homage to one of medicine's important figures, and also a plead for the power and seductiveness of science.
