Dr. Ehrlich's Magic Bullet-1940-update to Dvdrip (Size: 999.19 MB)
Description
The best of Dieterle's several solemn biopics for Warner Bros, mainly because the topic of syphilis, never dealt with previously in Hollywood, was intelligently and subtly covered here. Also because the subject, Dr Paul Ehrlich, the man responsible for finding a cure, was less well known than Pasteur, Zola and Juarez, and was played convincingly by Robinson (unlike the hammy Muni as the others). The 19th-century German scientist is, of course, opposed by the medical establishment, in the form of Kruger, but supported by his wife Gordon. It was co-written by Huston, who was to become a director the following year.
