Doctor Who - The Music I & II

BBC Radiophonic Workshop



Two 'showpiece' albums of radiophonic music from 'Doctor Who' where the artists were given the opportunity to remaster tracks in stereo, and mix in sound effects on some.



Originally released on vinyl by BBC Enterprises in the mid 80s, they were re-released on CD in 1993 by Silva Screen (from where this rip comes). The CD release saw the inclusion of tracks available on other albums, and retitled the albums: 'Music from Earthshock' and 'Music from the Five Doctors'.



I have presented these as released on vinyl, with full remastered CD cover art (based on the first album's cover) as a 2 CD set.



The only difference with the vinyl release is that the Delia Derbyshire theme is not mixed straight into 'The Sea Devils' track, and the original running order for 'The Music II' began with 'The Five Doctors' - swapping places with 'Enlightenment' - strange when all the other tracks were in story order (as I have presented them here). And I have remastered the opening theme track into true stereo (it was very hissy pseudo-stereo on the original).
