Zoo (2007) DVDRip
" : Zoo is a 2007 documentary film based on the life and death of Kenneth Pinyan, an American man who died of peritonitis due to perforation of the colon after engaging in receptive anal sex with a horse. The film's public debut was at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2007, where it was one of 16 winners out of 856 candidates. Following Sundance, it was selected as one of the top five American films to be presented at the prestigious Directors Fortnight sidebar at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Sundance judges called it a "humanizing look at the life and bizarre death of a seemingly normal Seattle family man who met his untimely end after an unusual encounter with a horse" Production The film was made with co-operation of the two men who took Pinyan to the hospital, as well as other friends of his, in the attempt to explore the life and death of the man, as well as those who came to the farm near Enumclaw for similar reasons, beyond the public understanding of the media. It does contain explicit material of sexual activities, but only in the view of video footage shown on a small television screen. Cast Coyote ... Himself Jenny Edwards ... Herself John Edwards ... The nice sound name for it is zoophilia, but you may know it as bestiality. The film starts off rather sedately and you wonder what the film is talking about, but as the film progresses you find out that what theyâ™re talking about is not exactly socially acceptable. In 2005, a man (dubbed Mr. Hands) died of internal bleeding and a perforated colon. These injuries were obtained when he was mounted by a horse (ironically an Arabian stallion named Bullseye). Yep, you read that right and by mounting Iâ™m not talking about the horse taking Mr. Hands for a ride in the countryside. He was ridden in a sexual way (and yes you read that right too). The thing was that Mr. Hands was a seemingly normal man who worked at Boeing. Mr. Hands was a divorced father who had arranged a seemingly normal vacation with his ex-wife and to visit his son. However, Mr. Hands had ulterior motives as he went to the Happy Horsemanâ™s farm to have his encounter with the stallion. The film is told from varying viewpoints, both the advocates of zoophilia and those against it. The situation is told in voiceover and recreations with actors. On the IMDB, someone joked that the guy died of a broken heart since the horse called out someone elseâ™s name during the activity. Although this made me laugh out loud, filmmaker Robinson Devor takes the whole thing very seriously in his film. The proponents donâ™t see anything wrong with it and the opponents see quite a bit wrong with it. The happy horsemen make it sound like a religious experience and talk about how wonderful it is not to have to communicate with the animal (can anyone say relationship issues?). The horsemen were arrested, but charges couldnâ™t be brought against them since bestiality wasnâ™t illegal in this particular state (I have a feeling that this may have changed after this incident). Itâ™s an extremely creepy film that shows a deranged, dark underbelly of society. Although the participants in these acts will beg to differ, I found the whole thing quite nutty. However, in some way Devor has crafted an interesting film but the subject matter is extremely repulsive and disturbing. They donâ™t really show you much, but the subject matter and discussions are extremely disturbing. Itâ™s hard to judge this dramatic documentary since the subject matter is so deranged. It exposes a perverse secret society that is brought to light by the death of Mr. Hands. If youâ™ve been on a farm or had horses you know that their… item is not exactly small and why someone would want to put it in the place that Mr. Hands did is beyond me. Iâ™m going to go down the middle, if those descriptions disgust you then you may want to stay away from this documentary.
