What is this game about?

Yandere Simulator is a stealth game about stalking a boy and secretly eliminating any girl who seems interested in him, while maintaining the image of an innocent schoolgirl.

What does “Yandere” mean?

A Yandere girl is a girl who loves a boy so much that she is willing to threaten, harm, or kill any other girl who seems interested in him. Wikitionary can explain the etymology of the word, and UrbanDictionary can provide some great examples.

What is the gameplay like?

The gameplay is similar to the Hitman series; you are put into a large environment filled with many NPCs, and you must track down a specific target and eliminate them. You can use stealth to kill your target without any witnesses, stage an accident that leaves no evidence, or just slaughter anyone who gets in your way. If you don’t dispose of corpses, clean up blood, and destroy evidence, then the police might be able to link you to a murder and arrest you.

If you don’t want to get any blood on your hands, you can use social sabotage to get rid of a girl; frame her for one of your crimes, get her expelled from school, or ruin her reputation. If you truly want her to suffer, convince every other girl in school to bully her until she commits suicide and saves you the trouble.

If the boy you love witnesses you committing murder, he could never love you, and the game would be over.

What kind of features will this game have?

Here is a short list of some of the features you can look forward to:

Persistent Reputation: When you are spotted doing something incriminating, students will gossip about you. When your reputation is low, students will be cautious around you, and will consider you to be suspicious. When your reputation is high, students will let their guard down around you, and will be willing to do favors for you.
Sanity Level: When you perform an act of violence, you will lose Sanity. This will cause you to appear visibly insane. If you lose too much Sanity, people will be able to tell that you are insane just by looking at you. If the boy you love sees you like this, he could never love you, and the game would be over.
Sanity-Determined Kill Animations: The killing animations will be determined by your current level of Sanity. When your Sanity is high, your kills will be efficient, quick, and silent. When your Sanity is low, your kills will be sloppy, messy, and noisy. When you have lost all Sanity, your kills will be long, brutal, and sadistic.
Yandere Vision: A button on the keyboard / controller will be dedicated entirely “Yandere” actions, such as creepy laughter. When Yandere Vision is active, important characters and objects will be highlighted and visible through walls.
Panty Shots: A certain character will perform important favors for you, if you send them photographs of girls’ panties. Panty shots will be like a “currency” that can buy favors and give you various advantages.

This is a debug build. This is not an official demo. This is not representative of the final game. This build only exists for testing purposes.
There is no goal. There are no objectives. You can’t “win”.
This build is not guaranteed to work on all computers. Especially Mac, or any computer with an Intel graphics card.
Anything that looks bad is a placeholder and is going to be replaced.
Don’t screw around with the XML.xlsm file or the JSON file in the StreamingAssets folder, or the game could totally break.
Don’t report any bugs until you’ve read the “Known bugs” list below.
If the game doesn’t run on your computer, I can’t help you. Please wait until the game has less bugs and less compatibility problems.

CONTROLS

Gamepad Controls:

Left Stick to move the character.
Right Stick to move the camera.
Hold LB to run.
Tap RB to laugh. Tap repeatedly to laugh louder.
Hold down RB to activate “Yandere Vision”.
Hold down LT to take out your smartphone. Then use RT to snap a picture.
Click in the Left Stick to spawn a trail that leads to class.
Click in the Right Stick to crouch. Hold it down to crawl.
Press Start to pause the game. Use the ‘A’ button to move forward through the menus, and the ‘B’ button to move back through the menus.
During a conversation with a student, use the Left Stick to highlight a dialogue option, and use the ‘A’ button to make a selection.
Use the D-pad to select a weapon. ‘Down’ on the D-pad will de-equip your current weapon, or drop whatever item you are currently carrying.
Keyboard Controls:

WASD to move the character.
Move the mouse to move the camera.
Hold Left Shift to run.
Tap Left Ctrl to laugh. Tap repeatedly to laugh louder.
Hold the Left Ctrl key to activate Yandere Vision.
Hold down the right mouse button to take out your smartphone. Click the left mouse button to snap a picture.
‘T’ key to spawn a trail that leads to class.
‘C’ key to crouch. Hold ‘C’ to crawl.
‘Enter’ key to pause the game. Use the ‘E’ key to move forward through the menus, and the ‘Q’ key to move back through the menus.
During a conversation with a student, move the mouse to highlight a dialogue option, and press the ‘E’ key to make a selection.
Use the 1, 2, 3, and 4 keys to select a weapon. ‘1’ will de-equip your current weapon, or drop whatever item you are currently carrying.
‘Esc’ key to quit the game.
Debug Controls:

If you’re getting a low framerate inside of Yandere-chan’s room, press the ‘0’ key to disable some of the game’s post-processing effects.
Press the “” key to open a debug menu.
Press ‘+’ to speed up time and ‘-‘ to slow down time. (This is a debug feature, and will not be in the final game.)
Use the Scroll wheel to zoom in on Yandere-chan’s face. (May not exist in final game.)
‘N’ key to increase music volume, ‘B’ key to decrease music volume.
‘M’ key to mute the music.
Take out your camera and press the left ‘Alt’ key to activate “Cinematic Camera Mode”. Press that key again to disable the cinematic camera.
‘~’ key to reset the level.
Customization options:

‘H’ key to cycle through hairstyles.
‘P’ key to cycle through eyewear.
‘O’ key to cycle through silly accessories.
Use the keys to decrease or increase Yandere-chan’s bust size.
