Vintage Channel Strip

The Vintage Channel Strip consists of three plug-ins, the EQ 601, the Compressor 260 and the Compressor 276, reproducing the sound characteristics of several classic hardware EQ and compressor devices from the 1970s. Faithfully capturing the analog circuitries of these hardware masterpieces, these plug-ins are also fine-tuned by leading engineers and provide an interface that combines simplicity in operation with exceptional sounding results.

All plug-ins are available in VST 3, VST 2.4 and AU format for multi-instance use within DAW hosts like Cubase or Nuendo.

EQ 601 — The vintage sound experience

The EQ 601 combines the sound of a classic equalizer from the 1970s with a wide range of practical functions. The plug-in offers six fully paramtercial bands, allowing you to manipulate the frequency with highest precision. The lower and the upper band include shelving filters, whereas the four MID bands come with peaking filters, exactly reproducing the both the boost and cut frequency response of vintage analog gear. The Drive mode allows the engineer to bring back the original analoge distortion characteristics of the good old days to a modern DAW system.

Compressor 276 — classic style compression

The 276 is a stereo compressor that has brought numerous professional productions to sonic perfection. Delivering classic-style compression based on the punch and fatness of the finest studio-grade hardware gear, the Compressor 276 is of the perfect choice for both acoustic instruments and vocals alike. The VCM technology enables you to experience the unique response and frequency characteristics of an analog hardware masterpiece from the 1970s.

Compressor 260 — sound reinforcement of the late 1970s

The Compressor 260 reintroduces the classic sound of the acclaimed compressor/limiter modules utilized by audio professionals in the late 1970s. Painstakingly modeling the renowned solid-state voltage-controlled amplifiers and RMS detection circuitries, which have elevated the hardware originals to legendary status, the Compressor 260 excels in the studio and concert halls alike.

Vintage Open Deck

The recreation of analog tape characteristics has always been a demanding discipline. The Vintage Open Deck employs the VCM technology to recreate the analog circuitry and tape characteristics that shaped the sound of open-reel tape recorders. Legendary tape recorders from Studer or Ampex have created a sound, which is only difficult to find in today’s production environments. The Vintage Open Deck is a four-in-one tape machine emulation with different sound characteristics to choose from: Swiss ‘70, Swiss ‘78, Swiss ‘85 and American ‘70. For an even wider range of variation, the characteristics can be individually applied to the record and playback decks.

Carefully modelled to the finest detail

Thanks to the Virtual Circuitry Modeling technology (VCM) the Vintage Open Deck not only reproduces the original vintage tape recorder sound, but is also highly configurable. The Vintage Open Deck provides four different machine types: Swiss ’70, Swiss ’78, Swiss ’85 and American ’70. Each machine type can be applied to the record and playback deck — independently. This flexibility enables to combine different machine types, achieving breathtakingly sounding results that are reminiscent of the 1970s and 1980s. But there’s even more to it than that. Beside the combination of different record and playback decks, parameters such as tape speed, bias and EQ settings, distortion and saturation characteristics can be adjusted, allowing the engineer to have full control about each detail of the tape mastering process. In addition, even the type of tape can be selected — a new and an old tape are selectable.

Recording Deck

Through parameters such as Record, located on the Recording Deck, the input level is adjustable, allowing to exactly determine the level of tape compression. In addition, the BIAS/Rec knob allows you to control the distortion level. By using Auto Makeup gain, the audio level of the reproduction deck reflects changes on the recording deck but maintains the relative output level. To adjust only the high frequencies, the Adjust High knob is the right parameter.

Reproduction Deck

The reproduction deck offers three parameters, which enable you to adjust the high and low frequencies as well as the output level.

Vintage VU metering section

The Vintage Open Deck includes a large VU metering section, consisting of two vintage-style VU meters and two LED displays, showing either the input signal from the recording deck or the output signal from the repdocution deck. The VU level metering can be configured within a range of 0.0 through 20.0 dB.

Compatible with industry standards

The Vintage Open Deck is available in VST 3, VST 2.4 and AU plug-in format, allowing for multi-instance use with digital audio workstations such as Cubase, Nuendo, WaveLab and Logic.

Vintage Stomp Pack

The Vintage Stomp Pack includes several effect plug-ins that exactly reproduce the analog sound of the original vintage guitar effects. Based on the progressive VCM technology, which provides an ultra-realistic sound modeling of the repective hardware image, the Vintage Stomp Pack fascinates by its rich and warm sound and an easy-to-use interface for a straightforward operation.

All plug-ins are available in VST 3, VST 2.4 and AU plug-in format, allowing for multi-instance use with digital audio workstations such as Cubase, Nuendo, WaveLab and Logic.

Max 100 – Dual Phaser

The dual phaser Max 100 delivers the original sound of the 1970’s hardware phasers. Modeled with VCM technology down to single circuitries and components of the original, the Max 100 even incorporates a reproduction of the light-sensitive CdS cell, which enables the Max 100 plug-in to exactly reflect the subtle change in character with modulation speed — just like the original.

Dual Phaser

The Dual Phaser plug-in is a VCM technology-based reproduction of a legendary stomp box, tailored to guitarists who want to experience a truly authentic vintage tone. 2 LFO’s, 2 phasers and 4 mode selectors allow a wide range of combinations for stunning effects.

Vintage Phaser

This plug-in combines the best qualities of the most popular classical phasers. Thanks to a large selection of mode settings, the Vintage Phaser is able to reproduce a range of completely different phaser types. Dedicated controls allow you to manipulate the rate of modulation, the center frequency, the depth of modulation and the amount of feedback.

Vintage Flanger

The Vintage Flanger is the counterpart of the Vintage Phaser, comprising the vintage sound characteritics of the 1970s with a superb modeling quality. The Vintage Flanger includes three Flanger types, each offering totally different sounds. Six settings such as Speed, Depth and Mix, allow a flexible and inspiring sound creation.

Vintage Wah

The warm and gorgeous sound of this 1970’s wah-wah effect is a must have for ambitious guitarists and producers who want to enjoy the sound of the “good old days”. Four different wah-wah modes along with four different types plus overdrive and speed controls make this effect a creative experience.
