XCOM Enemy Within update 1.0.0.9040 (2014-Mar-05) All credit for this goes to sam2k8 from cs.rin.ru Background: For some reason no scene group has deemed it worthy to crack/release the latest update for the game, which is required to install and play Long War mod. sam2k8 from cs.rin.ru forums has since fixed this problem, and I'm uploading this so fellow XCOM enthusiasts don't have to hunt it down. Installation: 1) Install XCOM Enemy Within (either PROPHET or RELOADED release works fine). 2) Unpack and copy over content from XEW.Update.v1.0.0.9040.7z into your installation directory; yes to overwrite. 3) Unpack and copy over content from XEW.Update.v1.0.0.9040.Cr4ck.7z into your installation directory; yes to overwrite (this is provided in a separate file just in case if you ever need original executable files, which you've copied over in step 2). 4) (optional) Download and install Long War mod from http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom/mods/88/ 5) Enjoy the game. 3.03.2015 Rovlad Sharing WidgetTrailerAll Comments |
- I had the prophet edition installed and the latest beta i14 or whatever of Last War.
- Now I have installed the latest last war beta, along with the patch. Sadly when I'd have to pick a place on the planet there'd be no text, after blindly choosing a location I then saw too little people on the ship so I knew it won't work (Old issue). When I'd hit launch it'd load forever.
So I managed to fix it. I already had a rar with all the files in the win32 folder (For when I had helped someone get i14 beta running). So I have just extracted that folder in the win32 and overwrote and it works. I see text + it launches the mission.
I have checked the patch folder to make sure my old files didn't overwrite anything essential but it turns out all that comes with the new patch that's related to binaries/win32 (In the XEW folder) is only the original exe and some other file that's irrelevant.
So if you : don't see the names of the country when you get to pick and you get the endless loop, exctract and overwrite this rar in xew/binaries/win32. It should work afterwards. I got the prophet edition btw.

Summary :
- If you have the prophet edition or any other, you had applied the new patch and installed the last war (latest version) and you see no names when you get to pick your country (there are no names or tabs) and then you get an endless loading loop after you load your first mission then try the method I have given above.
overall even with the i14beta just applying the crack was not enough as I had to apply the ali213 emu. (This rar I had uploaded contains the ali213 emu as well which is a bunch of files)
