Prep KBfiles: KB2919442, KB2939087 Spring 2014 Featurepack KBfiles: KB2919355, KB2932046, KB2937592, KB2938439 Features: -Windows 8.1 Spring 2014 update 17031 build -ESD recovery compression format for reduced iso size. -DaRT 8.1 integrated into boot.wim and winre.wim recovery options. Choose Repair your computer, Troubleshoot, then MS DaRT options to open. Features include an offline defender a/v scanner, password reset tool, registry editor, offline hotfix removal, system file checker, and many more. For WinRE.wim DaRT 8.1 you need to restart the Windows Recovery by running "shutdown /r /o /t 0" and then choosing the Advanced boot options. When the boot menu comes up choose option 10 and then Troubleshoot, DaRT. Notes: -All indexes use original MSDN 9/9 Win8.1 isos with integrated hotfixes. -There is no ei.cfg Use the win81-pkeys.txt on the ISO for install keys. Shift-f10, then "type win81-pkeys.txt" from the directory containing the txt. -MS could still release another version of this update between now and April, but it is unlikely. They will probably improve existing integration methods with prep files or procedures. -You will not want to install this if you change you language until we have the post-S2014 language packs leaked or MS updates the files on their servers. Changing language using the pre-leaked langages available on WinUpdate or the previous language packs will give you old file versions and cause boot failure and other equally serious problems. Make sure the files are available before you change your language. -When upgrading from 8.0, you need to let Setup download updates. If you do not allow setup to download updates, you will get a system full of errors and malformed files. Install using default key or gVLK (see win81-pkeys.txt) and then change key afterward if desired using slmgr. WIN and ESD for basic user or standard user is pretty much the same? Just burn on DVD or use bootable usb, and we can't see no diference when is installed? Em I right?
WIM format you can configure and export index to take out which editions you don't want. For users who like to customize there install easily. but because WIM is over 4GB fat32 limit you can't use UEFI install without knowing how to create 2 partition usb, only UEFI when booted from ISO.
ESD is non configurable you can't change without installing through
Windows Setup and then recapturing image. Can not customize easily.
For users who do not care about customizing there Setup. Because ESD file is smaller than fat32 4GB limit you can easily create usb MBR/UEFI install.
The ESD version can only be extracted through windows setup installer. but compresses file much smaller.
