Description

In 1992, cult indie band The Wedding Present conducted an interesting experiment. Across all twelve months of the year they released twelve 7 inch vinyl singles (one per month), each with an original A Side and an unusual cover version on the B Side. This quirky little stunt not only gave the band their highest ever chart positions but it also saw them appearing in the Guinness Book of Records as one of only two artists to ever have twelve singles in the top 30 in the space of one year.

The singles and their repsective b-sides was later complied onto two full-length CDs adequately named Hit Parade 1 and Hit Parade 2. The first 30 000 copies of Hit Parade 2 came with a limited edition disc containing BBC radio session version of all the a-sides. A 6-track EP called Hit Parade 3 was released in France only.
