Description

"Inside the Electric Circus" introduce W.A.S.P. at its most glam. The sound of the album is targeted for big commercial stadium arenas. Whereas "The Last Command" sounded quite neat and obvious studio recording after the raunchy debut, "Electric" returns the harder edge into the music. Sound is big and loud with lots of echo and distortion. At 1986 W.A.S.P. was maybe at it's peak. They had lots of gigs and this album really shows the impact of success on the songwriting. Even though the music is still very good and recognizeable as W.A.S.P., some songs have obvious similarities in structures and riffs. And the song "I'm Alive" was their first traditional 80's pop metal effort, but ironically also their absolute favourite of mine from this album. There are no ballads, but "Restless Gypsy" is surprisingly laid back for a W.A.S.P. song. This time album starts with an intro, and what a great one that is too! Band member changes were also made again. Blackie took place as the 2nd guitarist when Randy Piper left the band. Johnny Rod jumped in to play bass instead of Blackie.

Standout tracks: Yes, ALL OF THEM!! But especially the incredibly catchy "I'm Alive". "9.5.-N.A.S.T.Y." has some best throatwork ever from Blackie.

Sidenote: The album's name came up to Blackie's when he realized, that this is what their life was at the time during countless live shows and constant boozing: "A fucking insane, travelling circus!"

Remastered version with two bonus tracks: "Flesh and Fire" a single B-side, "Douche Bag Blues" a single B-side.

In very high quality MPC audio!
