Various Artists - Mixed Nuts Don't Crack (1982) punk comp (Size: 105.11 MB)
Description
1982’s “Mixed Nuts Don’t Crack” from Outside Records, proves that Dischord was not the only active D.C. hardcore label of the era. “We’re aiming to get local bands that Dischord won’t take,” said founder Lara Connolly. A fairly diverse collection, Mixed Nuts features everything from straight-ahead hardcore (Media Disease), to the thrashy United Mutation, to the noisy post-punk of Chalk Circle and Nuclear Crayons. Chalk Circle was Sharon Cheslow’s (author of “Banned in D.C.”) first band and one of the few bands from the early D.C. scene that included female members. Nuclear Crayons and Hate from Ignorance were others.
