Anime based on the eponymous series ranobe (short novels with illustrations), written by Fujikawa Keisuke and illustrated by Mutsumi Inomata. The first anime adaptation was presented full-length movie "Utsunomiko" from the studio Nippon Animation, released in 1989. At that time, the studio was famous primarily producing numerous animated series based on the stories of literary works. Perhaps this is why the continuation of it never came. Despite this, the sequel didn't have long to wait. Initiative adopts Toei Animation - studio giant anime industry, founded in 1956 and produces work to date. And autumn of 1990, Toei Animation released a second movie "Tenjouhen Utsunomiko". In the same year the Toei team is taken for the release of the OVA series, production of which was from 24.10.1990 to 29.02.1992. Series "Utsunomiko" published in Japan only on VHS, VCD and LD.

Description:
A long time ago, there lived a boy in the capital of Asuka. He had been given life by the God of northern Heaven (Hokuten), and he had a horn symbolizing the union of earth and heaven. Eventually, he became spiritually awaken. As one of the disciples under Enno-Ozunu of Kongozan, he fought the imperial forces which controlled the public in trying to consolidate power. But sensing that worldly matters flowed unchanged, the boy made a decision...To embark on a voyage to the land of the Gods for the future to come...To meet the God the father and question his heart. Born as a human, yet different. Not the God, yet aiming for the God. He flies the heavens to understand himself. A stranger of the heaven, his name is UTSUNOMTIKO.
