TRAMA:

Dopo aver appreso della morte del padre, Sam parte da New York per Los Angeles. L'avvocato testamentario gli consegna 150.000 dollari ed un biglietto del padre defunto in cui è pregato di consegnare il denaro a sua figlia Frankie e a Josh, due persone di cui prendersi cura. In quel momento Sam realizza che il padre aveva una doppia vita e che lui ha una sorellastra e un nipote. Afflitto da problemi economici Sam decide di tenersi i soldi e di conoscere, nel frattempo, i due senza palesare la sua identità. Si finge un ex alcolista, instaura un bel rapporto col ragazzino ma, quando il sentimento della sorella sta per tramutarsi in qualcosa di più è costretto a rivelarsi e consegna i soldi. Frankie tronca ogni rapporto con lui, accetta i soldi per dare a Josh un futuro migliore e cambia abitazione. Nel frattempo Sam, che dovrebbe tornare a New York per risolvere problemi di lavoro, si ferma ancora un po' a casa della madre Lillian. Ma ci pensa il ragazzo a rintracciare Sam presentandosi a casa di Lillian e lasciando un biglietto a Sam con il nuovo indirizzo. Sam ritorna quindi da Frankie per riunire la famiglia.

STORYLINE:

Sam has been keeping his distance from his father. When his father dies, he goes home for the funeral, and to see if his father left him any money so that he could bail himself out of his latest jam. But he learns that his father left all of his money to someone named Josh Davis. He finds him and learns that he is the troubled son of a woman named Frankie. Sam thinks she is his sister. He doesn't give the money cause he needs it. He makes contact with her but doesn't tell her who he is. Eventually they become friends and even helps Josh with his problems.
