Australia. Roz e Lil sono amiche sin da quando erano bambine. Si sono poi sposate ed hanno avuto due figli, Tom e Ian. Lil è rimasta presto vedova avendo però sempre accanto a sostenerla la famiglia di Roz. I due bambini, col passare degli anni, sono divenuti due splendidi ragazzi. Il marito di Roz si vede offrire un ottimo lavoro a Sidney dove finisce con lo stabilirsi facendo ogni tanto ritorno a casa.
