Plot :

Kenneth Zevo (Donald O'Connor), the owner of the Zevo Toy factory in Moscow, Idaho, is dying. He tells his assistant Owen Owens (Arthur Malet) of his desire for the factory to be given to his brother, Lt. Gen. Leland Zevo (Michael Gambon) instead of his son Leslie Zevo (Robin Williams). Even Leland Zevo is unsure of this, pointing out how Leslie has been apprenticed at the toy factory most of his life. Kenneth agrees Leslie loves toys and his work, but his childlike demeanor would not help him to be a successful business leader. Kenneth had even gone to lengths to hire Gwen Tyler (Robin Wright) as a factory worker, believing Leslie would become attracted to her and she would help him to mature.

Kenneth passes away and Leland reluctantly takes control of the factory. Leland, who still aspires to meet his father's demands to be a 4-star General, lets Leslie and his childlike sister Alsatia (Joan Cusack) continue designing new...

Trama :

Prossimo a morire, Kenneth Zevo, responsabile della ditta di giocattoli "ZEVO TOYS", dà le redini a suo fratello Leland, ritenendo che i figli Leslie e Alsatia, adulti ma infantili, non siano ancora maturi per dirigere l'azienda. Tuttavia Leland è un generale dell'esercito e la sua cultura militarista non tarda a farsi sentire sull'ambiente un tempo festoso della ZEVO TOYS: istituisce un sistema di sicurezza che include guardie armate capitanate da suo figlio Patrick e requisisce una parte dello spazio della ditta "per sviluppare delle idee", ma tiene segreti i suoi progetti a Leslie e Alsatia. Infatti il generale Zevo vuole fabbricare delle armi della grandezza di un giocattolo (come aerei e carri armati giocattolo), ritenendo questa sua idea un'avanguardia strategica e assume dei bambini per pilotare a distanza le armi in versione “bonsai”. Nonostante il rifiuto dell'alto comando dell'esercito americano ad attuare il suo progetto, il generale continua nella fabbrica a far segretamente produrre la sua...
