Description

It's a cruel world for musicians and crueler still for original rock bands from Central NY. Knowing the difficulties awaiting, Torment the Vein formed in spite of them… no longer willing to accept the uninspired status quo. With little fanfare, TTV tore their way onto the scene with music that cuts across the genres; only now being coined “alternative metal”.
In 2007, they released their debut album, 'Faded Life'. The area immediately took notice, as did local critics (2008 SAMMY Award winner: Best New Rock/Metal CD). ‘Faded Life’ cracks open the afflicted minds of Torment The Vein, to expose the raw emotion and disturbing struggles within. Haunting melodies soar through hard grooves and powerful harmonies; clawing at the melancholy, rage and insecurity we all harbor inside. The disc was far more than the band’s initial recording. It was a statement that TTV was NOT to be dismissed as the ordinary … this was just the beginning.
Much changed in the years after their first release. The band evolved in almost every aspect… from their gripping sound to their refined focus and drive. The band’s lineup has undergone a similar transformation boasting some of the areas most prime talents while bringing a genuine enthusiasm and commitment to the group, the music and one another in all they do. More than ever, Torment the Vein, became the of embodiment of passion, persistence and determination as they moved into the future.
To emphasize that point, TTV completed and released their second offering early in 2010; the aptly titled EP ‘Desperate Times…’. In a seemingly hopeless scenario, the band managed to finish and release the disc at the time, despite being without the services of a lead singer. ‘Desperate Times…’ was a major victory against adversity for the group and still manages to shine throughout. The bands diverse influence is evident in the five song recording as it channels beauty and beast without skipping a beat. If ‘Faded Life’ was the lofty standard set by the group, then ‘Desperate Times…’ is the bridge that ascends towards the next summit.
At the heart of it all, Torment the Vein would thrive off their live performance. On stage, the band emitted raw energy, emotion and excitement. If TTV’s music is a scalpel, cutting with precision and efficiency, than the band’s performance was like a chainsaw… all laid bare in an open display of controlled brutality and refined zeal. While on stage, the bands perfect alchemy of aggression and allure was apparent.
Despite it all, TTV finally called it quits at the end of 2010. Even so, their dedication to quality musicianship has inspired fierce support from fans and music industry representatives on the local and national levels. Torment The Vein is proud of all they had accomplished, including being featured on a number of special events, compilation discs and radio shows, as well as in print and online publications. They still continue to receive regular radio play in the U.S. and Canada. They’ve had the honor of sharing the stage with the likes of Puddle of Mudd, Nonpoint, In This Moment, Drowing Pool, Red, Candlebox, Adelitas Way, Trust Company, Mushroomhead, The Exies, Framing Hanley, Sharmen's Harvest, Powerman 5000, Seasons After and many other great national and local bands. Torment The Vein has left countless audiences hungry for more.
