Description

ABOUT APPS

FoxFi Key ($7.95): This is the license key that goes hand in hand with the PdaNet + app that I’ve raved about in previous articles. It allows you to turn your phone into a mobile hotspot, and many a time has it been an absolute god-send for me since I bought it.

Light Flow ($2.49): I like very specific colors to go with specific notifications; my Gmail inbox is perfectly color coded. It bothers me that the LED notification color on my phone is blue for almost everything, so I changed it with this app: it supports over 600 applications and system events.

Minecraft Pocket Edition ($6.99): The classic Minecraft game on your mobile: it doesn’t get much better than this. The world is not infinite like in the desktop version, but it’s still just as addicting. And if you haven’t tried Minecraft yet you are seriously missing out, no joke.

My Boy! GBA Emulator (ROMs here – $4.99): One of my all-time favorite gaming devices, the Game Boy Advance, has one of the most creative and extensive repertoires of games in my opinion. This emulator isn’t cheap, but it’s well worth the cost because it runs flawlessly to play all your favorites.

Paper Camera ($1.99): Instagram has filters, Paper Camera has…paper. It offers real time cartoon and painting effects displayed on your camera feed so you can see the world through a different lens – literally. It’s a fun way to make any already cool picture look even cooler.

PeeeM ($0.99): A cross platform mobile messenger that has been insanely convenient for me. You can use it with our tablet instead of your smartphone and the security features are extremely reliable. It feels a lot like the old school AIM brought up to date in the modern world.

SketchBook Pro ($2.99): I fancy myself an artist, even though I can’t draw very well. This app only works on devices with displays bigger than 7 inches to accommodate the full screen work space. It also features full multi-touch and stylus support for precise drawings.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ($0.99): This is the first video game I ever played, so obviously I love it. It’s a timeless classic and the re-mastered quality looks great on an HD display. But wait: it has exclusive levels and characters that were never in the original SEGA masterpiece.

Super GNES (ROMs here – $3.99): I grew up with a SEGA Genesis, and I never so much as got to play a SNES once during my childhood. I’m rightly obsessed with it now, but instead of shelling out the cash for an actual system I just use this emulator to play all of the classics.

SwiftKey ($1.99): One of the most popular keyboard mods you can get for your Android device. I have a Samsung, but after I started having issues with Swype I tried out SwiftKey. Now I don’t even remember what Swype was like.
