Young Victoria.
Timewatch tells the story of how an unassuming little girl rose to be the most powerful woman in the world. At her birth, few believed Princess Victoria would become queen, but a number of untimely deaths and the failure of her uncles to father any legitimate children meant that Victoria became heiress to the throne of Great Britain and Ireland. The battle between her and her mother the Duchess of Kent, however, was to become particularly fierce before Victoria was crowned.

Subtitles tested with VLC and Media Player Classic (VMR7 renderless mode).
To configure MPC goto View->Options->Playback->Output and tick "VMR7 (renderless)" mode.
Close down MPC and start it up again and play MKV file.
Enable subtitles by selecting Navigate->Subtitle Language->S:[English]
VLC's default behaviour is to play the SRT file. If you delete the SRT you can still
play the merged subtitles by selecting Video->Subtitle Track->Track 1 - [English]
