Een koppel keert terug naar Noord-Amerika voor eeen familiebegrafenis. Zij woonden de

voorbije zes jaar in Shanghai in China. Spoedig nadat zij aankomen, begint hun zoon

geesten te zien en een van de levende doden tracht bezit te nemen van hem. Dit alles

valt net samen met het Chinese festival, de 'Maand van de Geest'. Volgens de legende

gaan dan de poorten van de hel open en boze geesten en demonen krijgen dan de kans de
