PLOT







This series of seven documentaries features the most remote

and the most forbidding landscapes of the worlds largest

island, Australia.



This is a land of lethal creatures and death-defying stories

of survival. Greg Grainger has documented chilling stories of

assault and escape, from crocodiles and snakes, to sharks and

spiders, from the giant Cassowarry birds to the smallest ants

that swarm like armies.



The series reveals landscapes - from deserts to coral reefs,

from snow-fields to wetlands - filled with venomous creatures.

It follows the characters who live and work in these death

zones and how they handle these killers.







EPISODE SUMMARY







Season 1 Episode 7:



* Storm Chasers *



From floods, to dust storms, and hail as big as grapefruit,

join two storm-chasers as they drive into some of Australias

worst weather, shattering their windscreen in the process.



* East Coast Spiders *



Spider expert, Wazza Dyer, catches the deadly Sydney funnel

web in a suburban swimming pool. Also the deadly white tailed

spider. Interviews and footage of vicious bites.



* Kakadu Aborigines *



We follow a group of Aborigines as they hunt for file snakes

in these crocodile infested waters.



* Australian Tarantulas *



Searching for Australias largest spiders near Cairns with two

experts.
