other people have been having the same problem with the updates because they installed repacks from corepack or 3dm or ali or some other repacks instead of the original gog setup.exe but there are some torrents that have information about a reg file that can be imported into the registry to fix it you will have to read comments in those torrents with the update and copy/paste the registry entries into a whatever.txt file then rename the extension to whatever.reg and run it
