The Velvet Underground - Caught Between the Twisted Stars (Bootleg) (Size: 1.79 GB)
Description
This is a reseed from Dimeadozen.org (different .torrent file, no worries) of a delicious four-CD silver bootleg of post-Cale-but-still-classic Velvets. Four versions of Sister Ray - that alone should be a deal-maker.
The sound is all over the place - but it's about what you'd expect from an audience recording made in 1969. Those of you looking for studio-like clarity should probably look elsewhere - this is for the Velvet Underground and live music freaks Basically, Disc 2 is about the same sound quality as The Bootleg Series vol. 1: The Quine Tapes. Disc 1 is a step below that, but still very listenable. Disc 3 (the Legendary Guitar Amp Tape) is probably the worst-sounding of the lot. Disc 4 is better-sounding than Disc 3, but well below 1 and 2. All file and folder names are exactly as seeded to Dime. Personally, I'm a fan of the artistname yyyy mm dd city/state-or-country format - but I figured it'd be better to leave everything as-is. Everything below this line was written by the original seeder ( uptight from Dime) - many thanks go to him. The Velvet Underground Boston Tea Party 1969 Scorpio 1969-1/2/3/4 Liberated bootleg Lineage: Silver CD > EAC (secure mode) > WAV > FLAC (level 8 w/ Align on sector boundaries) Line-up: Sterling Morrison Lou Reed Moe Tucker Doug Yule This set compiles 4 audience recordings of Velvet Underground shows at the Boston Tea Party in 1969. January 10, March 13, and July 11 are from the famous 'Professor' reels (two others exist: December 12, 1968 at The Boston Tea Party, and August 2, 1969 at Hilltop Festival). March 15 is also known as "The Guitar Amp Tape". "Move Right In" on disc 2 is from January 10 recording and should be placed between "Heroin" and "I'm Set Free". "Candy Says" on disc 4 is from March 15 recording and should be placed between "I Can't Stand It" and "Waiting For The Man". Despite the back cover reads otherwise, disc 1 has actually 9 tracks (no track separation between "Heroin" and "I'm Set Free, same between "What Goes On" and "I Can't Stand It"), and disc 4 has 11 tracks (track 1 "Intro" is not listed). Original artwork (300dpi) with slipcase included. PLAY LOUD! ENJOY!
