Trama :
Antartide, inverno 1982. La quiete della base scientifica statunitense U.S. Outpost #31 viene interrotta dall'arrivo di un elicottero partito da una stazione di ricerca norvegese, che sta inseguendo un husky. Il cane si rifugia alla base e l'elicottero lo insegue cercando di abbatterlo. Dall'elicottero, una volta atterrato nel campo, scendono il pilota ed un compagno. Il pilota recupera una bomba a mano, mentre l'altro cerca di inseguire il cane con un fucile di precisione. Il pilota, dopo aver armato l'ordigno, tenta di lanciarlo, ma esso gli scivola dai guanti e la deflagrazione fa esplodere anche l'elicottero. Il compagno superstite continua l'inseguimento. Nel tentativo di abbattere il cane, ferisce alla gamba un membro del personale della base scientifica. L'inseguimento continua, ma il norvegese verrà a sua volta abbattuto da un abitante della base.
Due uomini partono in direzione del campo norvegese per capire le ragioni di quel gesto, ma lo trovano distrutto e...
