That could mean 42 million gallons to more than 100 million gallons of oil have already fouled the Gulf’s fragile waters. • The Senate Thursday defeated 53-47 an effort to limit the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, and President Barack Obama said the vote was a reminder of the need to pass more comprehensive climate change legislation. • Dutch murder suspect Joran van der Sloot told police investigators that he knows the location of the body of missing U.S. teen Natalee Holloway, the chief of Peru’s criminal police said.
