Grampa Simpson tells stories about his life to a man named Marshall Goldman. Goldman, a newspaper journalist, begins writing human interest columns about Grampa's life. Homer starts to become jealous of Grampa's fame, and seeks a surrogate father. However, Homer finds a draft of one of Goldman's future columns that says that Grampa had past away in his sleep at 3:00 PM, with the time being 1:00 PM Homer races to find Grampa before he is murdered by Marshall. Meanwhile Bart gets his class' stuffed lamb that one student gets to take home. When he abuses it Lisa decides to take care of it and on a stroll with it she accidentally loses it down a storm drain.
