Als er buiten een orkaan woedt, maakt een kleine maar ervaren ploeg op een booreiland zich klaar om de storm uit te zitten. Geïsoleerd op het booreiland is het snel gedaan met de rust onder de bemanning wanneer één van hen vermist wordt en een zoektocht niets oplevert. Ze komen er achter dat een dodelijk wezen de bemanning belaagd en ze één voor één elimineert. Omringd door een woeste zee, geen communicatiemiddelen en geen mogelijkheid om het platform te verlaten proberen de 'roughnecks' de stormachtige nacht te overleven met een onverbiddelijke kracht des doods die hen opjaagt.

If a hurricane rages outside, a small but experienced team on an oil rig prepares to sit out the storm. Isolated on the rig is done quickly with the peace among the crew when one of them missing and a search proves unsuccessful. They come back a deadly creature that attacked the crew and eliminates them one by one. Surrounded by a raging sea, no communication and no way to leave the platform to try to field roughnecks to survive the stormy night with an unrelenting force of death hunts them.
