The plot tells the story of Charlie (Shia LaBeouf), an American who gets into a vision of his dead mother's message to embark towards Bucharest. Their misfortunes begin on the plane, when a passenger dies by her side. He gets involved with the daughter of the passenger, the Romanian Gabi (Evan Rachel Wood), one cellist with ties to a local gangster (Mads Mikkelsen). Before you know it, Charlie ends up being dragged into the underworld of Eastern Europe, full of psychedelia, brutality and love.
