A classic among classics from England's Hammer Studios!

In a remake of Universal's 1930's "The Mummy" Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing breathe new life into an old classic and redefined horror for years to come.

The story line between this version of the Mummy is very similar to the earlier incarnations of the work by Universal. However, while Karloff's Im-ho-tep worked his evil through spellcasting and hypnotism, and in the 1940s, the Mummy became the bandage-swathed revenant most people are familiar; Hammer's 1959 color version made their mummy a Terminator-like killing machine.

Like all Hammer productions, sparse budgets limited some of the set work (the outdoor scenes in Egypt will make Star Trek fans start searching for Captain Kirk to come along and toss a Styrofoam rock at a lizard alien.) However, these short comings are easily overcome by solid performances by the now legendary cast.

A must see for all classic movie lovers!
