Taking place 70 years after the events of "Avatar: The Last Airbender," this story follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang - a passionate,

Korra seeks to master the final element, Air. Her quest leads her to the epicenter of the modern "Avatar" world, Republic City - a metropolis that is
fueled by steampunk technology. It is a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. However, Korra discovers that
Republic City is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip it apart. Under the tutelage of Aang's son, Tenzin,
Korra begins her airbending training while dealing with the dangers at large

By the age of 17, Korra has mastered all elements except air. Master Tenzin, Katara's and Aang's son, and only airbending master, postpones Korra's
airbending training in order to take care of matters in Republic City; but Korra convinces him to train her. After a clash with local triads,
she is arrested by Lin Beifong, head of Republic City's metalbending police force and the daughter of Toph. Meanwhile, antagonist 'Amon' is
revealed as the leader of the anti-bender "Equalist" movement.

match by use of air-bending movements; wherefore Tenzin, impressed, allows Korra to stay on the team.

Trying to collect money for their pro-bending fees, Bolin is recruited by the Triple Threat Triads, with whom he is abducted by the Equalists.

Bolin before Amon can do the same to him.

Republic City Councilman Tarrlok creates a task force to capture Amon, and eventually recruits the reluctant Korra. Mako gains a sweetheart in Asami Sato,
the daughter of industrialist Hiroshi Sato, who agrees to sponsor the Fire Ferrets' presence in the competition. After some success in the task force,
Korra publicly challenges Amon to a duel; but she is ambushed and restrained by Equalists, and Amon does not hurt her, on grounds of fear to make her a martyr.
He will thus save Korra for last.

Mako dates Hiroshi's daughter Asami, to the annoyance of Korra; and when he refuses her, she passes an evening with Bolin, but kisses Mako after
their next match, disappointing Bolin. By the end of the episode, the Fire Ferrets forgive each other and advance to the championship match against
the three-time defending champions known as the Wolfbats.

Amon threatens to attack the pro-bending arena if the Council does not cancel the championship; but Chief Lin Beifong convinces Tarrlok otherwise
by offering to protect the stadium. Despite tensions resulting from a prior relationship, Tenzin and Lin agree to cooperate therein. During the
match the Wolfbats defeat the Fire Ferrets by foul play. When the match is over, the Equalists neutralize Chief Beifong's metalbenders using electric gloves;
whereas Amon strips the Wolfbats of their bending abilities and ruins the stadium.

7 7 "The Aftermath" Joaquim Dos Santos & Ki Hyun Ryu Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko May 19, 2012 (2012-05-19) 107 3.45

Tarrlok calls for Lin Beifong's dismissal as chief of police after Amon's attack on the pro-bending arena; whereas Mako and Bolin move into the Sato mansion.
While visiting them, Korra overhears implication that Hiroshi Sato is colluding with the Equalists. She informs Chief Beifong and Tenzin, who launch an
investigation but find no evidence. A mysterious source tells Korra that Sato has a secret factory under his mansion used to manufacture weapons for the Equalists.
When Korra, Tenzin, and Beifong discover the secret factory, they are attacked by Equalists using mecha-like combat robots built by Sato. Beifong's metalbending
police are captured and taken to Amon; but Mako, Bolin, and Asami rescue Korra, Tenzin, and Beifong. Beifong intends to resign her post and to rescue her officers
"outside of the law", and Korra offers Mako, Bolin, and Asami residency on Tenzin's Air Temple Island.

At his induction as Beifong's replacement, Police Chief Saikhan vows to support Tarrlok's task force; but Korra quarrels with Tarrlok. As she expresses
frustration with her inability to airbend, Tenzin asks her to obtain help from her past lives by meditating on brief visions of Aang. Asami, Mako, Bolin,
and Korra patrol the city and capture escaping Equalists, to Tarrlok's disapproval. Soon after Tarrlok places all non-benders under a curfew, Korra tries
to free unarmed civilians captured by police, and Tarrlok arrests her friends to stop her. Korra refuses to comply with his wishes to secure her friends'
release, and compares him to Amon, whereupon Tarrlok attacks her; eventually to subdue her her by revealing his blood-bending powers.

Tarrlok locks Korra in a platinum box, publicly claiming that Equalists abducted her. In response, Lin Beifong breaks Korra's friends out of jail
and, with Tenzin, infiltrate the Equalist hideout and discover that Tarrlok lied. Confronting Tarrlok in City Hall, a witness exposes Tarrlok's
actions and bloodbending powers, which Tarrlock uses it to disable the group and escape. During this time, Korra learns from Aang's past that
42 years prior, a mobster named Yakone was brought to trial on charges of bloodbending, without needing a full moon; but escaped his trial by
bloodbending the court into submission, whereupon Aang recaptured him and removed his bending. Upon his return to the cabin, Tarrlok confirms
Korra's deduction that he is Yakone's son, attempting to rule Republic City from a political seat. Thereafter escape is thwarted by the Equalists,
when his bloodbending proves ineffective against Amon. As Tarrlok is taken by Amon, Korra escapes and is borne to her friends by Naga.

10 10 "Turning the Tides" Joaquim Dos Santos & Ki Hyun Ryu Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko June 16, 2012 (2012-06-16) 110 3.54

After recovering from her abduction, Korra recounts her story, whereupon Asami questions Mako about his feelings for Korra and Tenzin asks Lin to
protect his family while he attends the morning's council meeting. Tenzin is attacked at City Hall and learns that the other council members have
been captured by Equalists. Amon's Zeppelins are bombing Republic City as Tenzin reaches police headquarters, where he wires the United Forces for
help. Forced to evacuate headquarters, Equalist mecha-tanks attack and capture Chief Saikhan and many officers. Korra and her friends rescue Tenzin.
Meanwhile, Pema gives birth to Rohan as Equalist airships arrive at Air Temple Island. Lin Beifong and the airbender children defeat the invaders.
While Korra goes into hiding, Tenzin flees with his family to preserve the last airbenders. Lin destroys an airship which pursues them, allowing the
airbenders to escape, but is captured and has her bending taken by Amon when she refuses to reveal Korra’s whereabouts. The episode closes with
Korra's team entering the city sewers and General Iroh, commanding a fleet of United Forces warships, answering Republic City's plea for help.

Korra and her friends hide in an underground settlement until Iroh's fleet arrives, which is promptly disabled by Equalist mines and aircraft.
After Korra saves Iroh from drowning, she and Mako go in search of Amon and discover the captive Tarrlok, who reveals that Amon is his brother
Noatak and also a bloodbender, driven to revenge on benders by their father Yakone. Meanwhile, Korra's friends prepare an assault on the Equalists'
mountain airbase to prevent the sinking of a relief fleet under Commander Bumi, Tenzin's brother.

Bolin, Asami, and Iroh invade the airfield, where they are captured by Hiroshi Sato's Equalists and thence rescued by Naga. While Asami
and Bolin overcome Hiroshi and his mecha-tanks, Iroh destroys the Equalist bombers sent against Bumi's United Forces fleet; whereas Korra
and Mako confront Amon at an Equalist rally, intending to expose him as a bender. Amon then reveals that he has captured Tenzin and his family,
whom Korra and Mako then free. Amon overpowers Mako and Korra, and removes her bending powers; but is overcome when Korra achieves air bending
after long failure, and his escape unmasks him publicly as a waterbender. He flees Republic City, taking Tarrlok, who uses an Equalist lightning
glove to detonate their motor boat. At the South Pole, Katara is unable to heal Korra's severance from water, earth, and fire. Thereafter Aang
and other Avatars appear to her, and Aang restores her connection, explaining that her despondency allowed her to overcome the difficulties
encountered earlier. After the lovestruck Korra and Mako kiss, she enters the Avatar State to restore Lin Beifong's bending.
