Description

The Keeper Of Lost Causes - Hardcoded Eng Subs - Sno

Lovers of tense, twisted Scandinavian thrillers will want to seek out The Keeper Of Lost Causes, a pacy, well-crafted adaptation of the Jussi Adler-Olsen bestseller.
Nikolaj Lie Kaas is suitably mean and moody as maverick detective Carl Morck.
The aftermath of his impetuous actions leaves one colleague dead, another paralysed and Morck banished to the basement processing 20 years of unsolved cases. His enthusiastic new assistant Assad (Fares Fares) merely heightens his sense of gloom.
Inevitably, there is one case that attracts his interest - the disappearance of rising politician Merete Lynggaard on a ferry five years earlier. The body has never been found although a verdict of suicide has been recorded. Something doesn’t feel right to Morck and the viewer is soon aware of how justified his suspicions are.
Lost Causes is familiar stuff and could almost be the pilot for a new television series but it remains an intriguing, cleverly plotted nightmare thriller that builds to a nailbiter of a climax.
