There are some gems in this colletion; there are also some boobies here too. I like the version of 'Spanish Lady' played by The Johnstons. It is reminiscent of the music played by some but not all of the great English folk bands. Pentagle springs to mind. And Alex Campbell's rendition of 'She Moved Through The Fair' is almost borderline Sean Nos. Being that raw could only be exquisite - and it is just that: exquisite! All the same, there could have been a better choice of songs. As I say, there are quite a few tunes on here that no one needs to hear ever again. The Fureys and The Dubliners are not represented too well in the tracks presented. Both groups have written some powerful tunes but not included in this collection. I could say the same for the wonderful Luke Kelly and a few others. All in all, the quality is brilliant. And thank you very much.
