A tratti, per seguire le vicende di The Honourable Woman, ci vorrebbe a fianco un esperto di politica estera, in particolare di questioni medio-orientali.
Di chi ti puoi fidare?
Della baronessa Nessa Stein (Maggie Gyllenhall), donna coraggiosa e determinata, nominata alla Camera dei Lord come parlamentare indipendente?
Del fratello di Nessa, Ephra (Andrew Buchan)? Degli agenti dell’MI6, i servizi segreti inglesi?
Dopo aver assistito in giovane età all’assassinio del padre, procacciatore di armi, Nessa eredita la sua azienda di armamenti insieme al fratello Ephra e, pur portando avanti in modo chiaro gli interessi israeliani, cerca di aprire al dialogo e alla convivenza con i palestinesi.
Ma anche i rapporti fra i due fratelli sono poco chiari: a gestire l’azienda di famiglia è subentrata ora Nessa che cerca di diversificare i prodotti.
Però, proprio alla vigilia della chiusura di un importante progetto commerciale, si trova invischiata in una macchinazione che coinvolgerà anche la sua famiglia.
