Like the fellowship of the ring extended edition and the hobbit: an unexpected journey blu-ray, the hobbit: the desolation of smaug blu-ray also has a similar blanket green tint added across the whole film. I have gone ahead and removed the blanket green tint across the whole film. The film is now far more natural looking and pleasing to the eye, removing the blanket green tint brings all the other colours in the film back to life, making it a lot more enjoyable to watch than the official blu-ray and all encodes based off the official blu-ray.

The previous release has a disappointingly low audio track that I took off the 2.06GB YIFY release so I have gone ahead and created for this release a much improved audio track of my own with higher volume and higher bitrate for improved audio quality.

A lot of time and effort on my part went into working out the correct settings to regrade this film so it looks better throughout the whole film. This colour corrected release is clearly superior colourwise to popular BrRip encodes like YIFY that are just taken straight from the official blu-ray with no colour correction whatsoever.

The 2 channel audio of this release also has an excellent bitrate, 256kbs, compared to YIFY's very low 96kbs, so it sounds great and is also at the correct volume, unlike a lot of YIFY's BrRip encodes that have the volume far too low. Both in terms of audio and video, this release is clearly superior.

I am very happy to share all the work i've done colour correcting this film with you all. All I ask in return is that you help me out by uploading as much as you've downloaded, seeding to a share ratio of 1 after you've finished downloading, so everybody that wants to download this colour corrected release can do so and I have the spare bandwidth to upload more releases that I have fixed.

If you consider this colour corrected release a clear improvement on the official blu-ray in terms of colour like I do, voting with a thumbs up and posting positive comments would also be very much appreciated.

Most important of all, spread the word about the blanket green tint on the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings films! Also let people know that there are colour corrected releases like this one that fix the problem. I'm personally sick of finding the same ugly green/teal tint on blu-ray releases over the last few years. The dark green mess that was The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition blu-ray was the last straw for me. Enough is enough! Let's stand up to the studios, increase awareness of the problem and start an anti-green/teal revolution!

With the same space that you need to get a great sounding 2 channel audio track like this one, you would get a very poor sounding 5.1 audio track.

For a BrRip release like this one where keeping the size of the file down is all important, I will always choose great 2 channel audio over very poor 5.1 audio. I personally don't have a surround sound system and I suspect many others here downloading this release do not either. On my tv the audio on this release sounds great! :)
