Description
The Foundling by Georgette Heyer. Edited and released by Sirius-Starhome.
Language:English Genre: Historical Romance First published: 1948 Formats: HTML, EPUB, MOBI, and PDF. Six covers selected from various English-language editions. This is one of the many excellent Regency romances by the literary heir of Jane Austen. A young Duke runs away from home to find out what life is like without an army of servants suffocating him. Georgette Heyer was the 20th-century English writer who practically single-handedly reinvented romance novels set in the English Regency, and made them popular. There are many other writers in this genre now -- Carola Dunn, for instance -- but for quality as well as quantity of writing Heyer outdoes them all. She also wrote some murder mysteries and some historical novels. Of the latter, I particularly recommend "The Spanish Bride". -- Sirius Sharing Widget |
