De Amerikaanse tiener Hannah Stern heeft het helemaal gehad met de jaarlijkse

American teenager Hannah Stern has had it's annual tradition of her Jewish relatives who died by the reckless actions of the Nazis during World War II s,
to commemorate. When Hannah asked to open the door for the prophet Elijha during the Jewish Seder feast "- the main ritual on Passover -
she suddenly turns back in time. To her immense surprise, she is right in the Poland of the forties.
She is a concentration camp and to her knowledge of the future use of the horrific past to survive.
Will the family stories and lessons at school had to meet in order to escape the gas chambers?

This is another telling of the holocaust, but this time from the perspective of a modern teenage girl who only grudgingly accepts the Jewish traditions, but when she is asked to "open the front door" as part of the Seder feast finds herself, not unlike Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, to have entered the 1940's and has stepped into the life of a prisoner in one of the German death camps where she experiences all of its horrors firsthand.
