Source: Audience Recording Lineage: Church Audio CA11> Sony PCM m10> iMac> Audacity v2.06> xACT to FLAC **Converted from Flac to 320 kbps mp3 using Trader's Little Helper by me, Zoooma** Recorded by: Pennyghael Location: Balcony fourth row slightly right of centre Additional Notes: The third of three Christmas Cure shows which were unofficially celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of The Top album and subsequent tour. I nice gesture by Robert was to invite And Also The Trees along as support as they were 30 years ago. This run of three compare well with other runs of three in London on the Kissing and Prayer tours. Although the set lists maybe lacking the variation of those shows, they definitely benefit from extra energy of the band not being worn out after a long World or European tour. Robert was chattier in these shows than he'd been. Time to enjoy the show. Zoooma The Uploader's Notes: 40 songs! 3 hours from start to finish! This concert is a marathon! The recording is not impeccably stellar... but really nice! While I am extremely grateful to the taper for sneaking his gear into the show to get a recording, I wanna smack the guy for talking! He talks during 8 or 9 songs. Each time it's a quick sentence, two at most, but it's there loud and clear. Why? #1 Rule of Taping -- SHHHHHH!!!!!! Considering the amount of music there is, the annoyances don't add up to much. His rig did a great job of capturing the music. Instrumentation is very good, Robert's vocals as well. There's a feeling it's just a little bit muddy but it's still a well done recording that brings this show alive in such a great way. I'm perfectly pleased to have added this to my collection! Aside from the chatty taper, there's a mystery why Wrong Number is split into two tracks but what are ya gonna do? If you have the know-how, feel free to join it and turn it into one track but I kept it the same as the Flac files were. After playing a marathon show each of the two previous nights, it's awesome the band is in such fine form for Night #3 here. I've heard great Cure shows before, seen 'em a couple times, but this is something else!! Only two songs from their four most recent albums spanning just about a full twenty years! So lots of old material here including all ten songs from their '84 release The Top which Robert is celebrating with these concerts. I really never imagined The Cure sticking around this long but they have and this is a great representation of them in the 21st Century! Enjoy & Please Seed!!! Sharing WidgetAll Comments |
