SINOPSIS Bobby Walker (Ben Affleck) tiene un buen trabajo, una familia estupenda y un espectacular porsche en el garaje. Cuando, de manera inesperada, su empresa decide reducir la plantilla, él y muchos compañeros se quedan en el paro. Sus superiores Phil Woodward (Chris Cooper) y Gene McClary (Tommy Lee Jones) poco pueden hacer para ayudarle, porque tampoco ellos tienen asegurado su puesto en la empresa. Bobby tendrá entonces que replantearse su vida y su papel como marido y padre.
