Trama:
Don (Robert De Niro) e Ellie (Diane Keaton) hanno divorziato da tempo, ma sono rimasti in ottimi rapporti anche se Don vive stabilmente con Bebe (Susan Saradon), ex migliore amica proprio di Ellie. I tre si riuniscono dopo anni sotto lo stesso tetto per un'occasione speciale: il matrimonio di Alejandro, figlio adottivo di Don e Ellie. Per l'occasione, il futuro sposo riabbraccerà anche la sua vera madre, Madonna, in arrivo dalla Colombia. Alla vigilia della cerimonia, Alejandro confessa di non aver mai rivelato a Madonna il divorzio dei suoi genitori adottivi, poiché la sua madre biologica è una fervente e rigorosa cattolica e ha sempre avuto paura di deluderla. Per questo motivo, Alejandro chiede a Don e Ellie di fingersi ancora marito e moglie per tutta la durata delle celebrazioni
