Description Alexandre Tansman was a Polish composer whose Neo-Classical style was formed in Paris, where he spent most of his life. (Though Tansman himself denied this, claiming that he was first and foremost a Polish composer.) His music is elegant, fastidious, but capable of larger and darker goals than most of his friends and colleagues. Tansman's Fourth Symphony is a good example of his style and craftsmanship.
