Haunting. Beautiful. Beguiling. It could be named Broke Back Samurai as well. Saikaku Ihara, for example, draws attention to the pure feelings of love between samurais in several of his stories... Homosexuality among Samurai warriors was regarded as pure & wasn´t taboo until the Meiji restoration. I highly recommend this film for any Noir fan or fan of Asian Cinema.
