Has this GOG version of the game fully optimized to work in Windows 7? I remember getting a random crashing issue with the game on Windows XP many years ago with the game's retail, non-GOG version.

Yes, it's 'fully' optimized it shouldn't crash, and if I'm not mistaken this release should work on Windows 10 as well.

There's also a fan made patch for the retail version to work on modern systems.

However, idk if they fixed the sound bug (voices ending suddenly before they finish a sentence)

The sound issue was due to the fact that you were trying to run this on a processor 10x more powerful then the game requires. Blood II suffers from the same problem, along with AVP2 and Deus Ex unless they fixed it with newer GOG releases.

one of the scariest games I ever played. I still can't shake off the feeling of isolation and hopelessness I felt playing System Shock 2 when I remember it.
