Strang - Linear Algebra and Its Applications 3rd ed (1988) pdf

This is Gilbert Strang's "Linear Algebra and Its Applications", 3rd

edition (1988).



This is a re-processed version of the download with the same title that

is found in many collections. It has been extensively reprocessed: (1)

the file size was reduced from 85MB to 9.6MB, (2) it has been OCR'ed so

the text is searchable, (3) table of contents bookmarks were addded, (3)

dark border blemishes were trimmed, (4) most pages have been centered and

straightened (a few severe tilts were left alone to preserve font

integrity), (5) shaded highlights were converted to binary half-tones

(as part of the size reduction). Regarding (5), half-tones produce much

smaller file size than dithering, although a drawback is occasional

Moire patterns at certain zoom levels in some PDF viewers. Still, there

is subtle spacing around shaded letters so they should always be legible.



I travel a lot and my laptop is only available intermittently, so
