Description
kk650 presents: Regraded Attack of the Clones V2
Technical Specs: Name: Regraded Attack of the Clones V2 Size: 1.9 GB Video: 1920x820 H264 23.976 Audio: English 92 Kbps AAC-LC (2CH) Hardcoded Alien Subtitles in English Subtitle Track 1: English Subtitles Subtitle Track 2: Spanish Subtitles With this Version 2 release the overexposure of the hdtv transport stream has been corrected by reducing the brightness so the blacks are in line with The Phantom Menace and the other Star Wars films. The overly red sunburnt fleshtones have also been adjusted to closely match the more natural fleshtones of the Star Wars Semi-Specialised Edition V2.2 and The Phantom Menace V2, making this film more visually appealing and consistant with the latest Semi-Specialised Editions and The Phantom Menace V2. From the initial release of the Star Wars Complete Saga on blu-ray, I have always felt that Attack of the Clones has easily the worst transfer of the six films. A lot of people think that The Phantom Menace transfer is worse but I disagree because The Phantom Menace suffers from one main problem really, from way too much DNR. The blu-ray transfer of Attack of the Clones suffers from two big problems though: 1) The transfer of Attack of the Clones has been DNRed to high heaven, in some ways worse even than the massively DNRed The Phantom Menace transfer. Everything looks soft and the whole transfer lacks detail. 2) Attack of the Clones has had a strong dark teal tint added to it across the whole film, making everything look underexposed and all things meant to look white now look teal. Look at the comparisons below for an example of that. It makes the whole transfer look pretty dull and awful IMHO. The DVDs never had this teal tint, the hdtv versions never had this teal tint, so I don't understand why it was added, it really ruins the look of what used to be a very visually appealing film. So I went looking for the highest quality source of the film I could find that had the original theatrical colours rather than this new underexposed teal look found on the official blu-ray. Using a couple of high quality hdtv streams of Attack of the Clones as sources, I recreated the blu-ray release of Attack of the Clones with the visually appealing colour grading of previous releases. I also found that these sources had far more fine detail than the blu-ray transfer, confirming what i'd already suspected, that the lack of detail wasn't something inherent to the original digital master like some had suggested, but that the the original master of Attack of the Clones had much more fine detail and this master has been massively DNRed to create the transfer on the blu-ray. I personally find this new version of Attack of the Clones to be a big improvement over the official blu-ray, both in terms of fine detail and in terms of colour. Things meant to be white are now white again. I hope you like what i've done here. Enjoy! :) All kk650 Regraded torrents can be found HERE Here are some screencap comparisons between the official blu-ray and this regraded release: Official Blu-ray 1: Regraded 1: Official Blu-ray 2: Regraded 2: Official Blu-ray 3: Regraded 3: Official Blu-ray 4: Regraded 4: Release MediaInfo: Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 3 frames Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 2h 22mn Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 1 900 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 16.0 Mbps Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 832 pixels Original height : 820 pixels Display aspect ratio : 2.35:1 Original display aspect ratio : 2.35:1 Frame rate mode : Variable Frame rate : 23.976 fps Minimum frame rate : 23.974 fps Maximum frame rate : 23.981 fps Standard : NTSC Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.050 Stream size : 1.89 GiB (95%) Language : English Encoded date : UTC 2015-12-04 03:47:58 Tagged date : UTC 2015-12-04 03:48:49 Color primaries : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4, SMPTE RP177 Transfer characteristics : BT.709-5, BT.1361 Matrix coefficients : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4 709, SMPTE RP177 Audio ID : 2 Format : AAC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Format profile : LC Codec ID : 40 Duration : 2h 22mn Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 92.0 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 101 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel positions : Front: L R Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 93.7 MiB (5%) Language : English Encoded date : UTC 2015-12-04 03:49:06 Tagged date : UTC 2015-12-04 03:49:08 Related Torrents
