Star Wars Empire At War Forces Of Corruption

I seem to have the same problem as many others do, I do everything right, but when I run the .exe, it just gives me a white screen and crashes.

I have a copy of Empire at War, it was patched to 1.02 at time of install and recently 1.05 with the install for FoC. However, FoC won't run at all. EaW works fine on its own. Its fully up-to-date and I have copied across and modified some of the XML files and the game still runs fine. I use Windows 8 Pro (x64) which may be the issue but if EaW works then why won't FoC?

I have tried running as admin as well as in compatibility mode and I cannot think of anything else that could cause the game to crash every time I get to the initial splash screen (before the lucasarts animation).

I didn't work for me.
