Standalone Flash Player is a tool with a pretty self-explanatory title - it allows you to play files of the SWF and FLV format, without the need of any external tools.
The interface of the program is standard and simple to navigate through. You can open a video by using only the file browser, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported.
The media player takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resources and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. Everything ran smoothly.
However, since it is a simplistic software, you don' have enough functions at your disposal. For instance, you cannot create a playlist, load subtitles, configure image settings (e.g. brightness, contrast, saturation), change program options (e.g. enable Standalone Flash Player to automatically run at system startup or to minimize to system tray), and so on.
