HEVC x.265 quality m8 :-)

lol
One can add 6ch too but for a 720p encode many including myself prefer 2ch.
720p is what is usually watched on a laptop, and 2 channels is more than sufficient for laptop speakers or a pair of headphones.
1080p copies have 6h, since you might be watching on a home theater and want to experience the whole thing.
I agree,

It is kinda down to the "majority" of users choice. Just see the download numbers to work that out on 2ch vs 6ch torrents.

If you are a 5.1 or 7.1 "PURIST", you are better off with the huge sized Bluray 1080P files or the 6 ch HEVC/x.265 files of course, but majorities are with the Uploaders choice I believe.

Until they adopt x265 for Satellite Tv in my country they can't get 1080P or 4K transmitted on Satellite, only PPV or Subscription TV/Movie WEB based Streaming services can provide some/limited content in x265 for 4K and if we wanted to GET THOSE..... AND PAY, well then we would not be here, now. Would we?

Lol ;-)
