Spellforce - Universe DVD2-TrueFix-Project9 (Size: 245.63 MB)
Description
One of our people got pissed off for buying the Spellforce - Universe and builded
really nice fix for US Retail Spellforce - Universe - DVD2 (even while it's cave man style this one actually works/Fixes the actual DVD flawless). Well, xxxx happens to all companies time to time. There, is 2 ways to get this all functional. Sadly, cannot find anything freeware which could create ISO file clean on command prompt at least this scale the size of patched file is 6 Gigabytes, so, optional UltraISO from people will have to do or that you burn/make iso with something else directly from folder. Hardway... (Burn or mount clean working DVD-Image): 1. copy/move your sf-Universe DVD2 ISO-Image to 'patch'-directory (where the 'patcher.bat' is) and rename that ISO as 'sfu-dvd2.iso' [or make ISO from your DVD same name.]. (Check 'help.png') Optional: If you do have Registered 'UltraISO' copy 'UltraISO.exe' to 'apps\'-folder. (Creates Image file in end of process.) 2. run our 'Patcher.bat'-file & make a cup of coffee. 3. If you did have UltraISO burn/mount created 'sfu-dvd2-patched.iso'. If you didn't have UltraISO burn (or make ISO) from content of 'tmp\'-folder. (ISO Format: UDFDVD, Label: SpellForce2_Gol) NOTE: Final size of 'sfu-dvd2-patched.iso' is 6431473664 bytes. Why it's smaller? This is because the DVD2 end is empty and so is crundicated does not affect playing nor that anything would be missing. Tools Used: (apps) i6comp (InstallShield 6.x Cabinet Util - Version 0.2 - fOSSiL & Morlac - 2000) (apps) WinRAR v3.81b4 Optional: UltraISO.exe For everyone who uses this patch. don't be surprice, if the patching process takes time. We are talking about 7,95 Gigabyte DVD correction. To simply play... (Do not give a xxxx about DVD-Image): 1. copy 'base\'-folder folder from 'Data\'-folder to game installation path. 2. done Extra note & some questions answers...: Why did this have to be so hard? why not other tools than UltraISO perhaps freeware? mkisofs 2.01 = this ends up on 2GB Filesize CDImage v2.47 = This ends up on 4GB Filesize MagicISO (miso) = doesn't even wanna add the files. PowerISO (piso) = No way, This tool has no clue how to manage this says doing does = 0. and so on... You can try to find an tool which can do this in commandline let us know. How about copy protections? Well, original Spellforce did have Securom & jowoods own goodies with the DVDs, but the US Retail Universe (aka. Spellforce 2 - Gold Edition) in this case DVD2 doesn't even have DVD check. So as long data installs & data is good (which it is/was not) it'll play like a baby on backup DVD or mounted, to make myself somehow clear 'you could even install this straight from the 'tmp\' folder created.
