Uncle Remus is a fictional character, the title character and fictional narrator of a collection of African-American folktales adapted and compiled by Joel Chandler Harris, published in book form in 1881.
Disney made a movie of these stories in the 1940's, and it's generally considered to be racist as all heck, and you won't ever see it on TV, nor will Disney EVAR pull it out of the vault.
Here we have the cartoon episodes of that film, which are African-American folktales, and anyone who does not like it can suck eggs.
The stories are AWWWSOME, the animation is top notch, and the songs are unforgettable - this is where the phrase "zippity doo dah" comes from.
