TRAMA:

Un piccolo villaggio nella regione dello Yunnan, in Cina. Una giovane donna, Xiwen, perde il suo unico bambino, Shitou, che muore avvelenato da un alimento adulterato. Nello stesso momento, dall’altra parte del mondo, Matteo lavora per conto del gruppo Feng, una multinazionale con sede ad Hong Kong che, fra molti altri affari, traffica cibo contraffatto nel mondo. Per evitare l’arresto da parte delle autorità italiane e cinesi che gli stanno dando la caccia, Matteo fugge dall’Italia riuscendo a salvare dal sequestro un prezioso carico di alimenti adulterati del gruppo Feng. Poche settimane dopo, a Hong Kong, il fondatore e presidente dell’omonimo gruppo, Mr. Feng, nomina Matteo responsabile del traffico internazionale di alimenti: inizia una scalata al successo senza scrupoli. Hong Kong, tempo dopo Matteo è a un passo dalla nomina ad amministratore delegato del gruppo Feng dopo una lunga serie di successi. È proprio in questo momento di massimo prestigio che Matteo incontra Xiwen. Il trafficante di cibi adulterati e la donna che a causa di quel traffico ha perso un figlio, si conoscono per caso nel ristorante che lei ha aperto in memoria del bambino, per compiere una personale battaglia per l’autenticità degli alimenti. Entrambi ignorano la verità che l’altro nasconde e non immaginano che quell’incontro sconvolgerà le loro vite.

STORYLINE:

In a small village in China's Yunnan region, Xiwen (Jingchu Zhang) mourns the sudden loss of her beloved, only child, a young boy poisoned by tainted food. Numbed by the pain, she seeks a reason to live. Although a woman of the highest integrity, she has become hard and uncompromising. Far away in Italy, Matteo (Luca Barbareschi) is a ruthless, high-powered player for Hong Kong-based Feng Multinational, an international conglomerate with many interests around the world ... not all of which are above board. Lured by the highly lucrative, international trafficking of adulterated foods, the suave and cynical Matteo has abandoned all scruples and conscience and is well on his way up the underworld corporate ladder. Following a series of cold-blooded successes, he is poised to become CEO of the Feng group when fate abruptly intervenes. Crossing paths with Xiwen, the two instantly share a powerfully undeniable attraction. Tentatively, they begin to see one another, each experiencing ...
